Hillsboro Trojan Family Memorial Scholarship Fund

Hillsboro High School Alumni,

As alumni of Hillsboro High School, we all share common ties to the educational background that laid the foundation for our lives.  Whether we’ve stayed close or moved away, our roots remain here.  We share experiences that shaped us, memories that sustain us, and bonds that endure to this day.

In time, we find ourselves in a position to give something back to our school and hometown community.  One way to do this is through the Hillsboro Trojan Family Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The fund provides a way for HHS alumni to honor the memory of a classmate, faculty, or staff member who is no longer with us, and to make a lasting impact on future generations of HHS students.

The endowed scholarship fund was created in 2020 by the Hillsboro Community Foundation.  At the bottom of this page is a list of the classmates in whose name donations have been made, and the class years from which donations have been received.

Scholarships strengthen our school system and community, helping to make Hillsboro and the surrounding area a great place to raise a family.  The first annual scholarship from this fund will be awarded in 2025 and is based on a combination of academic achievement, school activity participation, community involvement, and financial need.

Through the collective donations from across all Hillsboro High School graduating classes, the number and size of annual scholarships from the fund can continue to grow.  HHS has over 3,000 alumni, and together we have the potential to provide meaningful financial aid to our youth for further education.

This September, there is an added benefit in that donations made to the fund will be matched up to a total of $5,000 through a matching grant from the Patterson Family Foundation in Kansas City.  Donations may be made either online using the link below or by check.

When donating by check, please make the check payable to Hillsboro Community Foundation and specify the Trojan Family Scholarship, your class year, and the name of the person you are honoring on the check.  The check may be mailed to P.O. Box 273, Hillsboro KS 67063

We invite you to make a donation and join your classmates and other HHS alumni in growing the Hillsboro Trojan Family Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Every donation matters, regardless of size, and will make a difference for future generations of HHS students.

Donations must be made by September 30, 2024 to be eligible for the Match Event.
