Funds
The following are current Hillsboro Community Foundation funds, along with the purpose for each fund. Unless otherwise noted, each fund is an endowment in which only the earnings are distributed, typically on an annual basis.
Contributions may be made to an existing fund, or you may create your own fund.
Community Development Funds
| Donate | Hillsboro Community Arts Fund To promote and enrich the Hillsboro community through various expressions of the arts. |
| Donate | Hillsboro Community Development Fund To provide general support for Hillsboro community projects directed by the Hillsboro Development Corporation to enhance quality of life and create a strong business climate. |
| Donate | Hillsboro Community Fund To support efforts that involve improving the quality of life for the Hillsboro community. Fund contributions and earnings are both available for distribution. |
| Donate | Hillsboro Community Response Fund To support programs and services providing immediate and long-term recovery services and support following a local disaster or community incident. Fund contributions and earnings are both available for distribution. |

| Donate | Hillsboro Give $360 Fund To provide a $1 per day contribution plan through an annual or periodic gift throughout the year. Amounts received are divided equally between the Hillsboro Impact Fund and Hillsboro Community Fund. |
Community Health Funds
| Donate | Helen and Laurine Schafer Charitable Fund To support causes of health-related needs in the Hillsboro community and to support the Newton Medical Center. |
| Donate | Kansas Health Foundation Fund To underwrite solutions to local health issues and for the protection and promotion of the health and well-being of individuals and the Hillsboro community through the encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors and environments. |
| Donate | Marga Ebel Health Fund To provide support for the health and welfare of children in and around the Hillsboro community. |
| Donate | USD 410 Early Childhood Education Fund To support the mission of early childhood education: to enhance readiness for children from birth to age 5; help all children read on grade level by age 7; improve the quality of life through enriched parenting practices, early screening and quality care, and provide economic benefit because of healthier children and families. |
Community Designated and Special Purpose Funds
| Donate | Childcare Center Expendable Fund To provide financial resources for the establishment of the Hillsboro Community Childcare Center (H4C) located in the Trinity Community Center. Fund contributions and earnings are both available for distribution. |
| Donate | Clariece and Dean Schroeder Endowed Fund To provide for ongoing maintenance of the Hillsboro Scout House, home to local scouting programs and used in the community for receptions, reunions, and public meetings. |
| Donate | David F Wiebe Memorial Fund for the Hillsboro Pioneer Adobe House and Museum To ensure the future of the Hillsboro Pioneer Adobe House and Museum and to preserve the history of the Mennonite culture. |
| Donate | Hillsboro Area Museums Fund To support area museums and the costs associated with preservation of local historic structures, including the Bartel House, a historic home of the region. Fund contributions and earnings are both available for distribution. |
| Donate | Hillsboro Recreation Commission Fund To support the Hillsboro Recreation Commission and its operation, including support for those unable to pay fees, to have a scholarship made available, or the ability to purchase equipment for their programs. Fund contributions and earnings are both available for distribution. |

| Donate | Parkside Homes, Inc. Fund To provide support for Parkside Homes in the areas of capital improvements, scholarships for staff enrichment and the benevolent fund. |
| Donate | Salem Home Charitable Fund To provide support for Salem Home operational requirements in addressing resident needs. Fund contributions and earnings are both available for distribution. |
| Donate | Splash Park Fund To coordinate community contributions to the Hillsboro Community Splash Pad and other ancillary enhancements in order to provide a family friendly zone for the safety and benefit of Hillsboro community. Scholarship Funds
| Donate | C.M. Sextro Memorial Math Scholarship Fund To award qualifying Hillsboro High School graduates who have indicated a desire to further their education with a curriculum involving higher mathematics. |
| Donate | Demarius Lives Scholarship Fund To award eligible Hillsboro High School graduates based on character, with preference given to applicants pursuing higher education in either communication or journalism. |
| Donate | Earl and Mary Lee Wineinger Memorial Scholarship Fund To award graduates of Marion County High Schools, with preference given to students expressing an interest in a vocational education major. |
| Donate | Free Press/Joel Klaassen Journalism Scholarship Fund To award graduates of Marion County High Schools or Canton-Galva High School, with preference given to applicants pursuing journalism or other multi-media education degrees. |
| Donate | Gehring Family Tech Scholarship Fund To award graduates of Marion County High Schools pursuing an interest in technical services including artisan trades such as electrical technology, HVAC and plumbing. |
| Donate | Glenn and Janice Goertz Scholarship Fund To award eligible Hillsboro and Marion High School graduates who are pursuing a higher education in business. |
| Donate | Hillsboro High School Citizenship Award Fund To fund the HHS Citizenship Award Program based on criteria established by the Kansas State High School Activities Association. |
| Donate | Hillsboro Trojan Family Memorial Scholarship Fund To award eligible Hillsboro High School graduates based on financial need, participation in school activities, and community involvement. | Donate | Jayson and Jan Hanschu Family Scholarship Fund To award eligible Hillsboro High School graduates based on academic scholarship, citizenship, and character. |
| Donate | John A. and Harriet Kizler Wiebe Fund for Hillsboro High School To award eligible Hillsboro High School graduates based on academic scholarship and citizenship. |
| Donate | Rod’s Tire and Service & Firestone Agricultural Solutions/North America Division Scholarship Fund To award graduating seniors or non-traditional students of any Marion County High School to be used for higher education or vocational pursuits. |
Organizational Funds
| Donate | FACT Marion County Fund To support the efforts of Families and Communities Together (FACT) to improve lives in Marion County through early childhood programs, substance abuse prevention programs, anti-poverty programs, and the FACT Family Financial Assistance Fund. Fund contributions and earnings are both available for distribution. |

Donor-Advised Funds are typically family or memorial funds in which the donors determine and advise the foundation on how their gifts are to be distributed in support of the Hillsboro community, surrounding area, or charities of their choice.
